Books by Susan Kite

Susan Kite has been seriously writing for almost thirty years, mainly young adult science fiction, but she has also written middle school fantasy, YA historical, children’s and adult fiction.

Susan was born in Indiana, but her father was in the Army, so she moved extensively during her formative years. The post library was the first place she sought after a move, avidly reading fantasy, science fiction and other genres.

College and marriage put writing efforts on hold, but eventually the writing bug bit again. She wrote fan fiction for a decade, developing skills to write original works. A visit to the Mission San Luis Rey in California became the catalyst for her first novel, My House of Dreams. The Mendel Experiment trilogy — Realms of the Cat, Moon Crusher, and Crossroads to the Stars — were published by World Castle. Billy Bob Flybottom; a Very Tall Tale was released by Doodle and Peck Publishers.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in secondary English and a Master’s degree in Instructional Media at Utah State University. She worked in public school libraries for 35 years, most recently in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Now retired, Ms. Kite lives in Yukon, Oklahoma, with her husband, Dan; a chiweenie terrier, and two black cats, one of whom is named Zorro!
