Since 1992, Bold Venture Press has been publishing (on again and off again) quality reprints of classic pulp fiction. We began publishing Pulp Adventures (TM) in 1992, which profiled the fascinating world of the vintage pulp magazines and the creators who made them great.

Our first fiction collection was ED RACE: MURDER IN THE SPOTLIGHT by Emile C. Tepperman, which featured the exploits of a masked vaudeville performer who juggled guns in a marksman show, then solved crimes as a private investigator. The character originally appeared as a back-up feature in THE SPIDER, one of the classic superhero pulp magazines.

It wasn't long before Argosy Communications authorized a new series of SPIDER reprints, issued under the Pulp Adventures, Inc. imprint, an outgrowth of Rich Harvey's Pulp Adventures. After twelve issues had been published -- and the launch of a ZORRO reprint series -- Harvey continued publishing THE SPIDER under the Bold Venture Press imprint.

In late 2004, Bold Venture Press released its most ambitious project for that time -- an anthology that collected under one cover all of the original DOMINO LADY stories by Lars Anderson. They originally appeared in the spicy pulps, and the series ended after six installments, but the interest was there, and Harvey saw great potential for the character. Further invecting the book with an art deco glamour was none other than legendary comics illustrator STERANKO, who created a new cover painting and title page "dramatizations" for the book.

Now, the DOMINO LADY is the star of a new prose anthology from Moonstone Books -- with an exciting "lost" Domino Lady radio script written for the anthology by Rich Harvey. It was also Harvey who oversaw the creation of THE SPIDER CHRONICLES anthology from Moonstone, and the great pulp hero has been home there ever since.

Now Bold Venture is back from its brief hiatus and, as usual, we've done things in a big way. The Big Book for 2009 is DEADLY DAMES, featuring fifteen of today's top hardboiled authors, with artwork by the great Robert Maguire and Ben Fogletto. We have many more exciting projects coming up, so watch this site -- or subscribe to our monthly email newsletter.
